What is DEA Diethanolamine?

Diethanolamine is referred to as DEA. At room temperature, it is a colorless liquid. It has a slight ammonia smell. It is easily soluble in water and alcohol, soluble in acetone, slightly soluble in ether and benzene, and insoluble in carbon tetrachloride and heptane. DEA can absorb water and carbon dioxide in the air, and its freezing point is significantly reduced after mixing with water. DEA is flammable. The lower explosion limit is 1.6% (volume fraction), and the autoignition temperature is 662℃. It is flammable when exposed to open flames and high heat. It can react with strong oxidants. It decomposes under heat to release toxic ammonia oxide fumes.

3. Industrial Gas Treatment: In the petrochemical and natural gas industries, it is used as an acid gas absorbent (such as removing CO₂ and H₂S).
4. Textile and Metalworking Auxiliary Agents: As an auxiliary agent for textile printing and dyeing (such as antistatic agent, lubricant), or as a corrosion inhibitor and rust inhibitor in metalworking fluids.
