1-Chlorotetradecane is a colorless, transparent liquid with a mild aliphatic odor. The compound is insoluble in water but miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and acetone. Its density is about 0.86 g/cm³, boiling point is 295°C, flash point is 130°C, and refractive index is 1.446-1.448.
