It is a colourless, clear liquid with an ether-like odour. It has a relative density of 0.89, a molecular weight of 72.11, a melting point of -108.5°C, a boiling point of 66°C, a flash point of -17.2°C, and a self-ignition point of 321.1°C. Its refractive index is 1.407.
