2-Thenoyl Chloride is usually prepared by the reaction in the presence of 2-thiophenecarboxylic acid and thionyl chloride. During the reaction process, first, 2-thiophenecarboxylic acid is reacted with an excess amount of thionyl chloride at a high temperature. Then, it is cooled, neutralized, and finally 2-Thenoyl Chloride is obtained by distillation extraction.
