1H-Inden-2(3H)-one (CAS No. 615-13-4) is a ketone organic compound containing an indene ring, with a molecular formula of C9H8O, a molecular weight of 132.16 g/mol, white crystals at room temperature, and a faint aromatic odor.
1H-Inden-2(3H)-one has a melting point of 51–54°C, a boiling point of 218°C, and a density of 1.103 g/mL (25°C). It is insoluble in water but easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. It has both the rigid structure of the indene ring and the reactivity of ketones.
