It is almost insoluble in water, soluble in dichloromethane, very low in solubility in ethanol (96%), and polymorphic (5.9). It needs to be stored at 2-8°C.

Uses

1. Treatment of leprosy: Clofazimine is the drug of choice for the treatment of lepromatous leprosy, especially for patients who are resistant to dapsone, allergic to dapsone, or have other complications and cannot tolerate dapsone.
2. Treatment of skin diseases: It has a certain therapeutic effect on some skin diseases such as pyoderma gangrenosum and palmoplantar pustulosis. In addition, it also has a certain application in the treatment of atypical mycobacterial infections in AIDS patients.
