Ethidium Bromide exhibits a melting point of 260–262 ℃ (with decomposition), is highly soluble in water (40 g/L at 25℃) and organic solvents like ethanol and acetone, and forms a dark red aqueous solution. Its structure contains a phenanthridine ring and bromide ion, enabling orange-red fluorescence emission under 302 nm ultraviolet excitation.
