What is Coco Dimethyl Amine?

Coco Dimethyl Amine is a commonly used amine compound. Its chemical structure contains coconut oil alkyl chain and trimethylamine group. It is a colorless to light yellow clear liquid with a special amine smell. It has good solubility and is soluble in alcohol, ether and organic solvents, but insoluble in water. The compound has good surface active properties and can emulsify, disperse and wetting between water and oil. It is widely used in many chemical industries.
The substance can be used as an ionic surfactant, emulsifier and defoamer at low dosage and pH value. It can also be used in textiles, coatings, inks, papermaking and pesticides.

• Surfactant synthesis: As a key intermediate, Coco Dimethyl Amine is used to prepare coconut oil-based quaternary ammonium surfactants for detergents, softeners and water treatment flocculants.
• Oilfield chemicals: Used to prepare drilling fluid emulsifiers or crude oil demulsifiers to improve system stability and promote oil-water separation efficiency.
• Metal processing aids: Added to lubricants or rust inhibitors, it forms a protective film on the metal surface, reduces friction and enhances corrosion resistance.
• Daily chemicals and textiles: Coco Dimethyl Amine is used as a fiber softener to improve the feel of fabrics, or as an emulsifier and conditioning ingredient in daily chemical products.
