Uses
4-Fluorobenzyl Alcohol has been used in the synthesis of a wide range of compounds, including drugs, agrochemicals and other organic compounds.
4-Fluorobenzyl Alcohol has been used in the synthesis of drugs such as the anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil and the anti-inflammatory drug ibuprofen, as well as in the synthesis of agrochemicals such as the herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid.
It has been used to synthesize other organic compounds such as the dye fluorescein.
