1,2 - Bis(trimethoxysilyl)ethane is a new type of silane coupling agent. It is also called Bis(trimethoxysilyl)ethane, with a CAS number of 18406 - 41 - 2, a molecular formula of C₈H₂₂O₆Si₂, and a molecular weight of 270.43.

1,2 - Bis(trimethoxysilyl)ethane is a colorless, transparent liquid at room temperature, with a density of 1.066g/cm³ (20°C), a boiling point of 248°C (760mmHg), a flash point of 66.7°C, and a refractive index of 1.4070 (nd25). It is soluble in alcohol solvents like methanol, ethanol, and isopropanol, as well as polar organic solvents such as acetone and tetrahydrofuran. It is partially soluble in water and undergoes hydrolysis in water while being insoluble in non-polar solvents such as n-hexane and benzene.
