N-Methyl-4-nitroaniline is a yellow crystalline solid with a strong ammonia odor. It is essentially insoluble in water at room temperature, but is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, methanol and carbon disulfide. It can be reacted by nitric acid and is easily oxidized.
