Dimethyldimethoxysilane (DMDDS for short) is an organosilicon compound. It is a colorless liquid with a special ether-like smell. It is insoluble in water but soluble in a variety of organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers and ketones. Its CAS number is 1112-39-6, EINECS number is 214-189-4, chemical formula is C₄H₁₂O₂Si, and molecular weight is 120.22. Its density at 25°C is 0.88 g/ml (literature value), melting point is - 80°C, boiling point is 81.4°C (literature value), and flash point is 50°F. It decomposes in contact with water, and its vapor pressure at 20-25°C is 7-12790 Pa. Storage conditions are to store below 30°C.

1. Dimethyldimethoxysilane can be used as a common crosslinking agent to improve the mechanical properties of materials such as rubber, plastics, coatings, adhesives, and improve anti-aging, heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and physical properties.
2. Its highly activated methyl group, DMDDS is also a commonly used assembly molecule, which can be used in surface modification, catalyst preparation, organic synthesis and other fields.
3. In the electronics industry, DMDDS can also be used to prepare high-purity siloxane materials, which are used as raw materials for semiconductor materials.
