Tri(tribromophenyl) cyanurate is usually prepared by reacting triazine with bromine. Ammonia or ammonium hydroxide is used as a catalyst in the reaction to generate tri(tribromophenyl) cyanurate and obtain hydrobromic acid as a byproduct.
