Hexamethylphosphorous Triamide (CAS No. 1608-26-0) is also called HMPT, with a molecular formula of C6H18N3P and a molecular weight of 163.2 g/mol. It is a phosphorus-containing organic compound, a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, and is hygroscopic.
Hexamethylphosphorous Triamide has a melting point of - 44°C, a boiling point of 150°C (volatile at normal pressure), a density of 0.898 g/cm³, and a flash point of 26°C (flammable). The substance reacts with water, is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether, is sensitive to air and moisture, and needs to be stored at low temperatures under nitrogen protection.

Properties：

Uses：

As an organic synthesis intermediate, Hexamethylphosphorous Triamide participates in aromatic aldehyde epoxidation, Wittig reaction (replacing triphenylphosphine), and hydroperoxide reduction reaction. It can also be used as a phosphorylation reagent in combination with carbon tetrachloride to achieve hydroxyl chlorination. In the fields of medicine and fine chemicals, it is often used to construct complex phosphorus-containing molecules.

Harmful if swallowed, in contact with skin or inhaled, may cause irritation. Wear protective equipment when handling, operate in a fume hood, and avoid contact with oxidants and acids. Store in a sealed environment at 0–10°C and filled with nitrogen.
